About Florida Dock & Boat Lifts

Florida Dock & Boat Lifts was established in 1976 under the name Norquist Construction Company. Founder Ken Norquist started the company as a custom home builder. Located in beautiful South Lake County, Florida, Ken quickly discovered the need for a quality dock builder for waterfront homes. In 1988, Ken’s stepson Robert Walker joined the family business and eventually purchased it in the late 1990’s. It has been our goal to create a strong business foundation and develop qualified and experienced crews in order to meet our customers’ wants and desires. After 40 combined successful years of business and many satisfied customers, we’ve earned a reputation as one of Central Florida’s high quality custom dock builders. We take pride in all of our outdoor products to include custom docks, seawalls, gazebos, decks, playgrounds and more. We have expanded our business into Crystal River, Florida and we also service Citrus, Hernando and Levy County.

Robert “Robby” Walker is the president and owner of Florida Dock & Boat Lifts, a custom dock building business located in Lake County, Florida and also known as Norquist Construction Company. He is a native Floridian, a father of six, and an outdoors enthusiast. Robby started his construction career in 1988, and after working for his stepdad for 8 years, he purchased the business in 1996. From the start, it was his desire to expand the business while keeping the quality of workmanship to bring the family business to a new level. Through hard work and dedication, Robby has added multiple crews. He takes pride in his work and welcomes the opportunity to be your custom dock builder.

Ken Norquist is a second-generation builder, learning the trade from his father at a young age. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1971 with a Bachelor’s Degree. His studies included structural engineering, marketing and advertising. Norquist Construction Company was incorporated in 1976 and located in Anchorage, Alaska for a season of residential and commercial building. There he worked with some of the best carpenters in the business. When he returned to Florida, and for the next twenty years, he used all this experience to become one of the best custom builders in Central Florida. The docks and boat houses the company builds today are a direct reflection of his creative designing.
